Glowing Stones UI UX design / art

I worked as a freelance UI / UX designer & artist on the visual novel Glowing Stones: Heroe's Awakening. I designed many iterations and ideas around the keywords of the project: cristals, neons, pink, sexy, superheroes, and cyberpunk.

There were some limitations with what the Ren'py engine could do in terms of renders so we had to work within those and limit a little the options. Some decisions regarding ergonomy couldn't be implemented due these limitations or due to previous choices by the client on the programming of their interfaces.

I also created a new logo and a title screen illustration, rendering it with assets provided by the client.
In the end I create tools and well organized photoshop files for the client to further use to customize and change the interfaces further.

I'm quite satisfied with the results but this was a lot of work.

The title screen, I designed it, its logo and its background.

The game has a central theme of the player having a cyberpunk style tablet, where most menus of the game fit. This is the final versions we agreed upon.

Messages screen when included in the narration. It appears when some ongoing dialogue happens via messages, thus it was important to make it clear the player could not interact with this version and focus their attention on the involved character.

Relations cristal screen. This was the toughest to design, we went through multiple ideas, iterations and versions before settling on this one, and integrating the gauges was kind of a last effort, not too proud of these.

Jukebox. This one was a bit of a UX nightmare, we needed to have a "currently playing music" window as well as a "currently selected music" one and have it reflected on the left as well.
